Fireplace Tool Sets |
It used to be that you had a fireplace and a standard set of tools
sitting on your hearth. Fireplaces have come a long way in design
and many people choose to use only one or a couple of the tools
rather than the entire set. It is all a matter of preference based
on your specific needs.
For example, if you are using a fireplace that burns only gas logs
then there would be no reason to have a tool set other than for
appearance. In this case, you might choose a simple set or even a
couple of the items for enhancement purposes only whereas if you
were using a fireplace that burns wood, you would actually use the
tools.
If you prefer just to use a few tools, you will be pleasantly
surprised at the options available. Some of the fireplaces being
designed today offer a nice old-world charm where a nice shepherd's
hook broom and poker would be ideal. Other fireplaces, perhaps
something more sophisticated designed from marble or granite would
look beautiful with a copper shovel and broom.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to fireplace tools. Some
people like the full set, some only a couple pieces, and others go
for the more complex options that would include a wood holder on
the side or middle of the tools. If you have a nice brick fireplace,
you might consider hanging a broom off to the side for a nice country
or rustic look.
Never be worried about trying different looks in relation to the
specific need you have. People are always using their creativity
to discover different ways to use fireplace tool sets. Additionally,
look around at both fireplace stores and on the Internet for unusual
pieces. You will discover some amazing tools that can be purchased
through architecture salvage shops, some dating back for hundreds of
years.
